Country Star Frankie Ballard Sings at Local Listening Room near Nashville

When a local restaurant booked a country singer with several #1 hits for their inaugural listening room series, they set the bar pretty high for the performers that follow. “Sunshine and Whiskey” singer Frankie Ballard was the main act at Lyncoya Café’s first listening room event on April 30.

The waterfront restaurant in Hendersonville (18 miles north of downtown Nashville) will showcase singer-songwriters on the last Sunday of the month through the end of August.

Creating an experience with music and a meal is a concept that has been on the back burner since the restaurant first opened in September 2019. Owner/Manager Alex Sommese told 615 Notes, “We just decided to pick a date in April and go with it.” Alex says Frankie Ballard comes to Lyncoya frequently with his family (the Caesar wrap is his favorite), so she approached him one day about the upcoming event. “I asked, ‘Hey, would you like to perform at our first ever listening room? And he said, ‘Let’s do this thing!’” Tickets for that event sold out within a few hours.

The next listening room on May 28 (sold out) will feature Sarah Darling and Michael Logan. Tickets for upcoming shows will be announced on the Lyncoya Café Facebook page about 7-10 days prior to the events, which are scheduled for June 25, July 30, and August 27.

“The focus is on artists and music, but we want to complement that with really good food and drinks.” Owner/Chef Seth Yeargan will create a unique menu for the special events. Southern cuisine is the theme for May 28.
